Ribbee's Reading Program
What is Ribbee's Reading Program?
This reading program, sponsored by WLJT, has been developed to encourage reading in all grade levels across West Tennessee. The goal is to promote excellence in reading by honoring students who accomplish the goals set forth by the program!

How does it work?
Each student who reads 10 books at their appropriate level will receive two (2) FREE general admission tickets for one of our specified "Ribbee's Reading Program" nights at Pringles Park during the 2010 season. Participating students will receive a bookmark that they will fill out as they complete their books. The teacher will sign the bookmark, verifying that the books have been read. Then, the bookmark can be redeemed at the Pringles Park box office for two (2) FREE general admission tickets, as well as a Certificate of Achievement.

When are the "Ribbee's Reading Program" nights?
  • Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 7:05 pm Friday,
  • April 23, 2010 at 7:05 pm Friday,
  • April 30, 2010 at 7:05 pm

  • How do I get involved?

Contact your school librarian and let he or she know that you want to become a part of Ribbee's Reading Club, sponsored by WLJT! You may also contact Andrew Lambert at 731-988-5299 or visit the Diamond Jaxx Website.

    Countdown To Kindergarten

Some children, and their parents, come to Kindergarten without any idea of what is expected. WLJT is tackling that problem with a step-by-step Kindergarten “how to.”

Educators and other experts join us to explain what children and parents should know and what they should expect when it’s time for Kindergarten.  Immunizations, school supplies, appropriate dress, conduct, and even a school bus tour and safety lesson make up just a portion of the program’s curriculum.

If you would like to schedule a Countdown To Kindergarten in your community, contact WLJT's Sue Lasky at
    731-881-7561 or slasky@wljt.org
